Power-Off Behavior

You may notice that your TCL Google TV does not fully power off when you press the Power button on the remote. This behavior is normal for this model and does not indicate a defect.

The steps and information below explain how the power system works on this TV and what to expect when using the Power button.

How the Power Button Works

When pressing the Power button on the remote, the TV will show:

  • Restart
  • Cancel

The TV enters standby mode, not full shutdown.
This is the intended design for this model and software version.

What standby mode does:

  • Reduces startup time
  • Allows system maintenance
  • Uses minimal power
  • Keeps Google TV services running smoothly

If Your TV Does Not Fully Power Off

This is normal.
TV's do not always support full shutdown from the remote.

What you can do:

If you want the TV completely powered off:

  1. Unplug the TV from the wall, or
  2. Use a surge protector with an ON/OFF switch

Both options are optional and not required for normal use.

Model Differences

Other TCL Google TV models may show different options because they run different Google TV software builds.
This is normal across product series.

Summary

Your TCL Google TV is working as designed.
The absence of a full Power Off option is normal behavior and does not indicate an issue with the TV. No repair or warranty action is required.
