Change ad settings for your Google TV

Your Google TV device comes with an advertising ID unique to each device. You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time. The advertising ID enables apps on your device to provide a more personalized ads experience. Learn more about personalized ads on Google.

Important: You can't turn off ads, but you can control the use of your advertising ID for personalized ads across installed apps.

Reset the advertising ID on your Google TV

Important: When you reset your device's ad ID, it replaces the current ID with a new one. Apps can still send you personalized ads, but for a while they may not be as relevant to you.

  1. On your Google TV, go to the home screen.
  2. At the top, select Settings .
  3. Select Privacy and then Ads and then Reset advertising ID.

Delete the advertising ID on your Google TV

Important: When you delete your device's advertising ID, a new one isn't assigned. Apps can still send you ads, but they may not be as relevant to you. You won't receive ads based on this advertising ID, but you may still receive ads based on other factors, like the information you've shared with apps. You can always create a new advertising ID.

  1. On your Google TV, go to the home screen.
  2. At the top, select Settings .
  3. Select Privacy and then Ads and then Delete advertising ID.
  4. To focus on "Delete advertising ID," press the D-Pad twice.
  5. Press Select.
