How to scan for antenna TV channels on my TCL Android TV

Before you start

  • Make sure your antenna is firmly connected to the TV’s coaxial port, usually labeled CABLE/ANT on the back of the TV.

  • If you’re using an amplifier or splitter, try connecting the antenna directly to the TV during the scan for best results.

Run the channel scan

  • Using your TCL Android TV remote, select the Inputs icon.

  • From the Source Choice list, select Antenna TV, then press OK.

  • If you see a message like “No channel found, please press OK on your remote to scan”, press OK.

  • If a confirmation pop-up appears, press OK again.

  • When Channel scan settings appear, select these options:

    • Country/Region: United States

    • Automatic Search: On / Start

    • Tuner Mode: Antenna

    • Channel Type: Digital

  • The scan will begin. You’ll see a progress bar with the scan percentage and the number of channels found.

  • When the scan reaches 100%, select Finish.

Your TV will return to Antenna TV, and you can start browsing channels.

Tips if you don’t find channels (or you find only a few)

  • Reposition the antenna (higher placement or near a window often helps).

  • Select Scan again after adjusting the antenna direction.

  • If channels appear but break up or disappear, it may be weak signal—try a stronger antenna or repositioning.

  • Confirm you scanned using Tuner Mode: Antenna and Channel Type: Digital.

Next step: Viewing the channel guide (EPG)

After channels are found, you can access the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) from the Antenna TV experience (menu options may vary by model).
