How is the Screen Size of a Television Determined?

The screen size of a television is determined by measuring the diagonal distance between two opposite corners of the screen, typically in inches. This measurement includes only the display area and excludes the frame or bezel around the screen.

So, for example, a "55-inch" TV has a screen where the diagonal distance from one corner (Lower Left) to the opposite corner (Upper Right) is 55 inches.
