Can I change my Google TV Screen Saver?

You can choose what displays on your TV screen when you're not watching anything.

Choose your screen saver

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then System and then Ambient mode.
  2. Choose what you want to show:
    • Google Photos: Choose photos or albums saved in your Google Photos account.
    • Art gallery: Choose featured photos, fine art, and more.
    • Experimental: Try out new sources and content.

Change photo settings:

Choose which photos to show

  1. On your phone, open Google Home Home.
  2. Select your TV.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings Settings and then Ambient mode and then Google Photos.
  4. Select the photos or albums you want to show on your TV.
 
 

Customize Settings

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then System and then Ambient mode.
  2. Under "More settings," choose:
    • Personal photo data: Show or hide the owner's name and album name.
    • Portrait Google Photos: Choose if photos can show in portrait orientation.
    • Personal photo curation: Choose which albums are included.
    • Slideshow speed: Choose how long a photo stays on the screen.
 
 

 

Show weather & time on your screen saver

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then System and then Ambient mode.
  2. Under "More settings," choose:
    • Weather: Choose °C, °F, or Both.
    • Time: Choose to show or hide the time.

Turn personal results on or off

Important: This feature is only available on some Google TV devices in the US.
When the screen saver is active, personalized results may show. You can change when you want these personal results to show.
  1. From the Google TV home screen, select Settings Settings and then Accounts & Sign In.
  2. Select your profile and then Google Assistant.
  3. Under "How personal results appear," select Never show proactively or Show proactively.
Tip: If a device is idle for a few minutes, your personal results disappear.
