If you notice water leaking from your TCL air conditioner, follow these steps to identify and resolve the issue.
Step 1: Identify the Source of the Leak
- Check where the water is leaking from (front, back, bottom, or sides).
Step 2: Inspect the Exhaust Hose Connection
- Ensure the exhaust hose is securely attached to the unit.
- A loose or improperly attached hose can cause condensation buildup and leaks.
Step 3: Check the AC Mode
- What mode is your AC set to?
- If the unit is in Dry Mode or Dehumidifier Mode, it will collect more water than usual, which may require frequent draining.
Step 4: Verify the Drain Caps
- Ensure the drain caps are properly closed to prevent leaks.
- If a drain cap is loose or missing, water may escape from the drain port.
Step 5: Check if the Unit is on a Level Surface
- The AC should be placed on a flat, even surface to ensure proper drainage.
- If the unit is tilted, water may pool and leak.
Step 6: Drain the AC Completely
- Unplug the air conditioner before draining.
- Open the drain cap at the back and the bottom of the unit to release all stored water.
- Drain the unit outside to avoid spills on carpets or flooring.
Step 7: Allow the Unit to Rest
- After draining, leave the AC unplugged for at least 3 minutes before restarting.
Step 8: Plug It Back In and Observe
- Plug the unit back in and monitor for further leaks.
Step 9: Escalate If Necessary
- If the AC continues to leak after following these steps, contact TCL Support for further assistance.
Following these steps should help resolve most water leakage issues with your TCL air conditioner.
